NDC Lower West Akim Parliamentary  Hopeful Joins Muslims In Asamankese To Celebrate Birthday Of Prophet Mohammed 
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary hopeful in the Lower West Akim constituency of the Eastern Region, Mr. Owen Kwame Frimpong, who is affectionately called Darling Boy on Saturday January 14, 2023 joined thousands of Muslims in Asamankese to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammed.

They included Islamic scholars, chiefs, members of the diplomatic corps, Christian groups, students and residents.
 
The annual event was organised under the leadership of Mohammed Aminu Fafana family in Asamankese in the Eastern Region in commemoration of the life of Prophet Muhammed. 

Islamic songs of praise were sung in honour of Prophet Muhammed and National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharubutu including other Islamic religious leaders in the Eastern Region as well as the whole country.
 
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Frimpong  commended Islamic religious leaders, particularly Dr Sharubutu for promoting tolerance and interfaith dialogue and called on them to pray for peace, togetherness, unity and development.
According to him, Prophet Muhammed was the most illustrious and humane person who was just to all persons, regardless of their religion.
 
The NDC parliamentary hopeful appealed to Muslims to exemplify the lifestyle of the Prophet of Islam. 

As Ghana prepares for the 2024 elections, the Mr Frimpong advised the youth to be ambassadors of peace, and not to allow themselves to be used by self-seeking politicians to foment trouble.  
 
He said the Qur’an had described Prophet Muhammad as the most noble and pious human being sent as a blessing to the world.
 
Delving into politics, the NDC firebrand
chatised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of making Ghana to become a banana republic.
He pointed out that everything currently wrong with the country’s democracy since President Akufo-Addo and his NPP government have taken administrative affairs of Ghana.
"This country, we have tighten our belts for two years because this country is now banana republic. So for the two years, we have to work hard to ensure that we vote massively for our great party-NDC with reference to him to win the parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NDC in the Lower West Akim. I am also entreating you to vote massively for the NDC to win the presidential election in the 2024 general elections.
"So that comes 2025, the good people of Lower West Akim, including the entire people living in Asamankese and its environs are going to receive the national shares of their cake. This is because the great NDC is coming to rescue them.But as we are talking now, this country is no more Ghana, but rather is a banana republic," the NDC firebrand stated.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo and his NPP government have destroyed everything including economy in Ghana and asked Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu and other Islamic religious leaders to pray for the NDC to win the upcoming 2024 general elections to help bring the economic back to its good shape.
Mr Kwame Frimpong outlined his vision to the delegates and members of the NDC who are Muslims in the area and called on them to vote for him to win the NDC parliamentary primaries and subsequently wrestle the parliamentary seat from the NPP.

He promised to invest heavily in education of the teeming children in the villages and towns within the the Lower West Akim when elected the next Member of Parliament for the area on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.
 
According to him, the evidences or records available to the stakesholders in educational sector in the district indicates that there have been an abysmal performance in the results of the basic students/pupils of the various schools in the district who had been writing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the district.
Mr Kwame Frimpong bemoaned of hearing the outcomes of the latest BECE results that one pupil attained aggregate 13 within the whole Lower West Akim District, expressing that this phenomenon has become a grave worrying to him.
 
Worried about the failing standard of education of the children in the district, Mr Kwame Frimpong pointed out that he has directed his Darling Boy Foundation to embark on the educational supporting services and activities to the various basic schools in the district.
 
He pointed out that the foundation has distributed some teaching and learning materials including maker boards to the various schools within the district after he has been officially informed that the black boards in these schools had been deteriorated.

He disclosed that he renovated the building structure  of the Abuakansu Roman Catholic Basic School as well as building altra-modern library facility for the school to promote the development of the education.
 
Speaking in an interview with journalist, Mr Kwame Frimpong called on stakeholders in the education sector to address the falling standard of education in the region.
He said the performance of their children in the region was not encouraging, hence the need for stakeholders to adopt innovative measures to reverse the trend.
“As citizens, we must be concerned about the state of education in our region and it is our responsibility to support the government’s drive towards achieving access to quality education for everyone in the North East Region,” he stated.
He said, “I deem it fit to make education development my priority and that when l become the next MP of the area, since l started providing educational supports to the various schools in the area l would continue that my duty to support the growth of education in my area to help produce productive citizens who will contribute to develop the region and the country in general.”
He urged the traditional and Islamic leaders and stakeholders including chiefs in the district to prioritise education development by regularly visiting schools in their respective communities to monitor and help solve pertinent issues that affected the progress of teaching and learning process in the schools.
While urging the regional education directorate to strengthen their surveillance and monitoring, as well as supervision to curtail teacher lateness and absenteeism in schools, the potential parliamentary hopeful of the NDC also advised parents to develop keen interest in their children’s education and provide them with their basic needs.
He admonished Muslims and Christians particularly their youths not to repeat the past mistakes.
He stressed the need for the Muslim and Christian youths to be more respectable, humble and honest since we entered into another new year.
He added that the youths of this country need to demonstrate humility and honesty in their transactions.

He issued a stern warning to youths who plan to disturb the peace during and after the 2024 general elections.
