Take Correct Data or Risk The Growth And Development of Savannah Region In The Next 10 Years – Government Statistician

The Savannah Regional Government Statitistian Mr Abdulai Andani Iddrisu has charged enumerators who have been shortlisted for training towards the 2021 Population and Housing Census (PHC) to carry out their duties with utmost care and respect or risk endangering the growth and development of the Savannah region for the next ten (10) years.

He said this and successive governments will use the data that will be collected in the 2021 PHC for planning, budgeting, and development purposes.

Mr Andani said this at Damongo, the Savannah regional capital on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the Damongo Nurses Training College.“I want to appeal to you to take your time and care to help conduct the 2021 Population and Housing Census. For any mistake that is made in 2021, it will take Savannah region the next ten (10) years to correct it”, he said.

Mr Andani said those selected are expected to do the work with passion and do not devote much attention to the monetary benefits, even though it is very important.
The task ahead is tedious but let’s treat this work as though it is the work of God. When you do good, you do for yourself, he added.

This is a good opportunity to do good to the good people of West Gonja Municipality and the Savannah region. This can open up other important job opportunities for you so, go out there and collect the correct data for the growth and development of the Savannah region, he appealed.

He charged the enumerators to obey community rules and regulations and also build good personal and interpersonal relationships with respondents during and after the 2021 PHC.
Mr Andani was at the 2021 PHC training centre to congratulate and interact with the trainees undergoing the 2021 PHC training at the Damongo NTC.

The listing for the 2021 PHC will start on the 13th of June 2021.

The Census Night will be on the 27th June 2021, with enumeration starting on 28th June 2021.

The Regional Director was accompanied by Mr Ibrahim Issah Bukari, West Gonja Municipal Statistician, and Mr Kadiri Abdul Rahman, Municipal Census Officer amongst many.
