NDC Boys Raise Red Flag Over Division In The Party At Amasaman
A pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) group, Nsakina 10 Boys & Freedom Fighters, has registered its disquiet at what it says are “worrying developments” within the party in the Amasaman Constituency of the Greater Accra Region.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, (November 23, 2022,) morning at the party’s constituency office in Amasaman, Williams Afrakoh aka Lumba, who acted as the Spokesperson for the group, lamented that the NDC in Amasaman constituency has remained dormant for the past nine (9) months.
“In fact, no serious constituency activity has taken place within this period,” he asserted.
He attributed the situation to an injunction placed on the constituency elections by their suspended Constituency Chairman, Winfred Kofi Zoryiku.
The injunction, he said, has militated against the holding of the Amasaman constituency elections.
“In view of the above, the Amasaman Constituency was left out of the recently organised national constituency elections of our party.”

…As we speak now, Amasaman has no NDC executives,” he affirmed.
According to Mr. Afrakoh, these developments do not augur well for the NDC in Amasaman constituency, especially when “we are expected to have a united front to battle the 2024 general election.”
He quoted article 15(1) of the NDC Constitution, which stipulates that “We are supposed to elect new executives at a constituency conference organised every 4 years.
He explained that this means that the tenure of office is and remains 4 years for constituency executives.
“We last held our constituency elections in August 2018 and we believe those we elected at the time had their tenure expired in August 2022,” he stressed.

Consequently, Mr. Afrakoh contended that they cannot watch on for the party’s fortunes to dwindle in Amasaman Constituency, hence charged the leadership of the party at the regional level to act with a sense of urgency in addressing these pressing issues within Amasaman constituency.
“We further pray that this be done early enough to enable us have a say in the upcoming National Congress,” he pleaded.
He placed on record that Amasaman Constituency is the third largest constituency in the country, thus will play a vital role in the NDC’s quest to win the 2024 poll.
The spokesperson for Nsakina 10 Boys & Freedom Fighters used the medium to congratulate all the Greater Accra NDC regional executives, especially Chairman Nii Ashie Moore.
He intimated that the group has trust and confidence in Nii Ashie Moore to “amicably” resolve the issues plaguing the NDC in the Amasaman constituency.
