Minority Caucus on the Road Committee of Parliament raises duplications of already approved budgets

The parliamentary Committee on Roads and Highways has discovered that the 275 Million Dollars Loan agreement brought before it has included an already allocated amount as a reason for demanding the said loan.

This, according to the Minority is a repetition of allocated amounts. The Minority on the Road Committee of Parliament could not understand why an already allocated amount for projects would again appear to explain the basis for another loan.

The Minority is raising concern saying it was not the right thing to do. "Duplication of already approved funds for projects in the 750 million dollars already approved by the House is not clear", the Minority stated.

The Minority expressed shock seeing the already approved budgets in the 275 Million dollar loan agreement brought before it. The ministry of finance presented a total of $1 billion syndicated loan agreements for parliamentary approval out of which $750 million has been approved.

The Minority on the finance committee, however, approved only 750 million dollars. This, the Minority on the Road Committee, led by Ranking, Governs Kwame Agbodza citing many such projects including the Suame interchange, has already been approved by the House.

He called on the finance and the road ministry to give an explanation to the House over the duplication. Upon the demonstration by Suame Youth to demand their roads to be fixed, the Ranking on the Roads and Highways Committee, Governs Kwame Agbodza said conspicuous as it was, it paid off.
