The Government through the Appiate Development Fund has commenced the development of the community and work on the first phase of construction is progressing steadily.

The Governing Board Chairperson for the minerals Commission of Ghana, Honourable Lawyer MMrsBarbara Oteng Gyasi together with the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Honourable Samuel Abu Jinapor and the Municipal Chief Executive or Prestea-Huni Valley Honourable Isaac Dasmani (PhD) has visited the Appiatse reconstruction site and the relief camp to access the situation.

It will be recalled that on the 20th of January 2022, a tragic event of the explosion hit the Appiatse community which razed the entire township to the ground and brought untold hardship to its residents in particular and the country generally.

Speaking at the durbar at the Relief Camp, the Board Chairperson of the Minerals Commission of Ghana Honourable Lawyer Mrs Barbara Oteng-Gyasi expressed gratitude to the  Local Committee for the tremendous work done in the day-to-day management of the affairs of the residents over the past one  year and presented Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh10,000) on behalf of the Commission to members of the Committee as a token of appreciation.

On the part of the sector Minister, Honourable Samuel Abu Jinapor, also expressed satisfaction with the level of work done at the site.The government's commitment towards the completion of the project on schedule to ensure residents return to the town before the end of the year 2023.

Honourable Samuel Abu Jinapor together with the Chairperson of the Minerals Commission Honourable Lawyer Mrs Barbara Oteng Gyasi on behalf of the government donated 50 bags of 25kg rice, 5 cartons of cooking oil, 20 cartons of medium size pomo tomato paste, 20 cartons of water and cash amount of Fifteen thousand Ghana Cedis (15,000.00) cedis to the community and wished them a very happy and prosperous new year.
