The Ghana National Fire Service Municipal Commander for Atebubu-Amantin of the Bono East Region, DO 3 Major Nourinnon has confirmed that 2020 was a very challenging year for them due to a high number of fire outbreaks that occurred in the municipality.

According to him, they recorded; Seven domestic fires, 30 Accident cases, four Electrical fires, 10 bush fires, and six Vehicular fires 

Moreover, he explained the measures they put in place to protect Atebubu's main market from fire outbreaks as it has happened to some markets in the country.

He warned unqualified electricians to stop their activities (illegal connection) because the law is in full force against perpetrators.

He appealed to the public to be each other's keeper in the fight against fire outbreaks in the region. According to the fire commander, fire volunteers have been trained in various Districts to educate those playing with fire causative materials to desist because they have advocated volunteers to combat the rapid-fire outbreaks in Bono East region.

Finally, Major Nourinnon acknowledged the Government for bringing protective equipment to Atebubu-Amantin Municipality to help fight the high rate of fire outbreaks and requested more equipment.
