The Odikro of Ajumako- Kwanyako in Ajumako-Enyan- Essiam in the central region, Nana Kojo Owu V, has registered his displeasure on the low pace of developmental growth in his community. Nana Kojo Owu V touched on the access road linking to the Ajumako market causing farm products to stuck in farms hindering economic activities.

The community produces lots of farms produce especially plantain, cassava, and maize but due to Bad road networks, the farmers are unable to transport these products to the market. They sometimes get ripe and rotten by the roadside after harvest.

Nana Kojo Owu V explained one Mr. Tanoh from social welfare used to provide him with a grader to clear the road little by little. The Esikado bridge was being constructed by a contractor called Ankonam (Cape Coast) in 1976 but he was only able to do half and neglected the bridge due to the best reasons known to him. I  gathered the chiefs and wrote letters to government officials to come to our aid but to no avail. I followed up the Flagstaff House to meet field engineers the field commander at that time Smith who was also from CapeCoast but all efforts proved futile.

Nana also pleaded with the government of Ghana and the Ghana Education Service to post more teachers to the community because the children there are showing massive interest in education and the number of students is increasing but the teachers are not enough to match the situation and also build bungalows to accommodate teachers and health workers.

Speaking to Central Regional Soireenews correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful on challenges facing the community, Nana Kojo Owu v, also cited the expansion of the health facility serving the community and the surrounding towns due to increase in the population size.  He, therefore, called on the central government to pay much attention to basic amenities at the remote areas where commodities are brought to the city for capital gains.
