Lionel Messi might reconsider his decision to finish his contract at Barcelona, estimating the recent turn of events.

The Argentine’s father Jorge Messi and Barcelona club president, Josep Bartomeu could not reach an agreement during Wednesday's meeting to decide the future of the Barca captain.

Barcelona have made it clear to the forward that they do not intend to sell him whiles the Argentine, following the burofax declaring his intentions to leave stands firm on his decision.

TyC Sports claim that Jorge Messi told the Bartomeudirectly to his face that Messi is not playing for the Barca team again.

"My son isn't staying at Barcelona," is the decisive sentence reported by Marca.

Messi is in the final stage of his contract which contains a release clause of 700m euros.

He has not reported for training, having already refused the Covid-19 testing.

Messi does not want to leave Barca as the greatest traitor ever who regardless of the accolades won for the club, left through legal battles.

He could rescind his decision and make a U-turn to honor his contract, an agreement that would soon end for him to go free without a binding clause.

A contract extension is off the radar for the player in this stage, a deal earlier presented by Bartomeu until 2022 and discussed.

Messi is yet to make a public statement of his commitment to Barcelona. At least that will determine whether he will extend the deal after the change of heart or will still go-ahead to change grounds after his current contract which Barca will not benefit from.
