Chelsea are fourth, five points ahead of Manchester United after a 2-1 win against Aston Villa.

The Blues overturned Villa’s opener in two minutes - Pulisic in the 60-minute and Giroud’s winner coming in the 62 after Kortney Hause struck for Aston Villa late in the first half.

Chelsea consistently built-up time and time but were not looking too threatening upfront in most of their attacks with Villa struggling to keep the ball.

Villa launched their first attack after countless of Chelsea efforts were nearly instantly rewarded with a little bit of complacency.

El Ghazi was given space to shoot from 20 yards and fired in a powerful low drive, which Kepa got down to punch away.

The blues were at it again, going very close to breaking the deadlock in the 39-minute. Mason Mount was off the right and left two Hourihane all in a twist, before threading the ball towards the back post where Loftus-Cheek was just a few inches off reaching it.

Hause scored the opener two minutes injury time. Grealish stood up Alonso on the right and pulled it back to Luiz who delivered a great ball to the far post from deep. Hause gambled and prodded the ball goalwards and Kepa saved, but he could do nothing about the rebound as the defender fired it home.

Chelsea breakthrough after the breakthrough Cristian Pulisic. Azpilicueta took the Villa defense out after moving out wide in every attack of the game. He angled the ball to the far post, which Pulisic beats Hause to, and fired in an equalizer four minutes after coming on.

Giroud added a second, which happens to be the winner of the match after Barkley, received the ball down the left. Chelsea flooded bodies into the middle and Mount found Azpilicueta just onside on the left of the box. He fed Giroud who swiveled and beat Nyland thanks to a deflection off Hourihane.
