Members Of Asesewa Area Council Lobby Stakesholders For Development
Eight Assembly Members from their  Electoral Areas forming the Asesewa Area Council today engaged with stakeholders to chart a path towards developing their communities.
ln attendance were the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Upper Manya Krobo Constituency, Honourable Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, former District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Mr Felix Odjao, Presiding Member of the Assembly, Mr Felix Yohuno, Dr Akwetey, who chaired the function Dademantsemei, queen mother's and opinion leaders.
The purpose was to solicit for support in the provision of water, satellite markets, drainage system in the catchment area.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Ministry of Health (MOH) , Mr Offei Baah enumerated the number of nursing students he assisted into various health facilities.
He said, a new nursing training institute will be set up in  the Upper Manya Krobo District.
Former District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Mr Felix Odjao expatiated on the role of Assembly and Unit Committee Members.
He queried the absence of civil servants from the Assembly in the meeting.
He dwelt on the decentralization policy which is embedded in the 1992 constitution and the role of Assembly and Unit Committee Members in their Electoral Areas.
Mr Odjao decried the absence of the culture of maintenance on amenities in the various communities.
The bain of the district is the layout of the area. "We must therefore make a conscious effort at planning the Asesewa township to attract more development," he stressed
He appealed to the political parties to maintain peace and unity before, during and after the 2024 general election.
The District Director of NCCE, Mr Eric Yanney emphasized on tolerance in the upcoming general election.
  He also commended the Presiding Member for re-instituting the PRC (Public Relationship Committee of the District Assembly.
 The chairman of the event, Dr Akwetey also promised to bear the cost of the drilling of the mechanized boreholes.
The representative of Kloma Gbi donated 2000 cedis and promised further assistance towards the implementation of the project.
ln his address, the MP said he's already constructed a mechanized borehole for Community A and wish all communities could have one.
He promised to donate two big poly tanks towards the project.
He stressed on the need to rekindle the communal spirit in the areas.
The MP assured the gathering of peace during the election. "What is festering confusion during the registration exercise is the busing of hoodlums and goons  from other districts and camped in a hotel to  register and vote in the upcoming election," the MP said.
The event was enriched with colourful cultural displays by pupils from various schools in the District
