Ben Davies has agreed to join Liverpool in the January transfer window.

The Reds are willing to sign a centre back before the window closes on Monday night.

Joel Matip has not been consistent and dependent for the Reds as injury keeps distracting his time on the pitch. The Cameroonian has made 10 appearances for Klopp’s side in the Premier League out of the 21 games and has one goal.

Fabinho was forced out of the Tottenham game due to a minor muscle issue as his manager refused to go in-depth on his expected return date, which has called for the need to grab a defender for the backline before the window closes tonight.

Preston’s Ben Davies and Caleta Car of Marseille are options available for the Jurgen Klopp who seem not interested to make a big name signing this time.

Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano has said agreement has been reached between both sides and the deal will be completed today for €4m with medicals pending.

Marseille is unwilling to lose Caleta Car so late in the January window with a replacement signing hard to bring in, talkSPORTS reports.

Virgil van Dijk, Diogo Jota, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Fabinho and Naby Keita are all on the injury list of the Reds making their Premier League trophy defence a challenging one.
