Kwame Mickey resolves issue with Team Eternity regarding Defe Defe song

According to a statement released yesterday by OFM on his behalf, Kwame Mickey and Team Eternity Ghana have effectively settled their disputes, reaching a mutually beneficial arrangement that puts an end to the controversy over the use of the 'Defe Defe' lyrics.

Kwame Mickey, the executive producer for Hallelujah Voices' 'Defe Defe', claimed in a Facebook post last month that Team Eternity Ghana had infringed on his copyright by utilizing the 'defe defe' line in their next successful song.

His tweet sparked a heated debate on social media about whether Team Eternity was guilty of the copyright allegations brought against them.

As if that wasn't enough, Kwame Mickey, through OFM company, a multinational entity with operations in Ghana, Nigeria, and Europe, wrote to YouTube, requesting that Team Eternity's 'Defe Defe' be removed from the view platform until copyright issues with him were resolved.

A number of individuals are thought to be working behind the scenes to resolve the situation, which was largely regarded as a "Kingdom matter."

In an interview with Hitz FM yesterday, gospel artist, Ohemaa Mercy urged to Kwame Mickey not to drag the case, because Team Eternity Ghanaa's Defe Defe song was positively impacting lives.

"Team Eternity has done well, and Kwame Mickey should forgive them. There is no copyright here.

"When you visit our hometown of Kumasi, we say 'defe defe' every day. I had already used the phrase'monnyae me' in my songs. So there are some of the terms that you may think they took, but they are words we utter all the time," Ohemaa Mercy remarked.

This recent development in the case will undoubtedly come as a comfort to those who had been hoping for a settlement.
