A lecturer at the Hilla Liman Technical University in Wa of the Upper West Region, Mr. Stephen Mane has been killed by a stray bullet on his way home.
"He meets his untimely death on his way from Bamahu when he got down from his car to check the water gage of the car, he was hit by a stray bullet from a disputed Land sit close nearby". An eyewitness, Fatawu told Soireenews.
According to him, several persons including drivers, pedestrians, and workers at the disputed land were injured by the gunshots.
The shooter only identified as Anusha claimed the land belonged to him which he has not sold to anyone, but only to meet people working on the land.
He said, upon several attempts by the shooter to stop the construction work proved futile and he then opens live ammunition at the site.
He has since been arrested by the Upper West Regional police command, whilst the injured persons are receiving treatment at the Wa Municipal hospital.
The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Wa Municipal hospital for more, for autopsy and preservation.
