One person confirmed dead in Asafo Dadiesoaba fire outbreak

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue pending autopsy.

Mr Kwadwo Fordjour believed to be a fifty-six (56) year old man has been confirmed dead following a fire outbreak that took place at Dadiesoaba, a suburb of Asafo in the Kumasi metropolitan assembly.

The fire which destroyed the first floor of a story building at Dadiesoaba claimed the life of the man who got stuck in the process on Thursday dawn.

The fire, according to a report, started around 12:30 am from a chamber and hall apartment belonging to the late Fordjour who is one of the family members living in the house.

The fire got spread rapidly to the other rooms.

The deceased, Mr Kwadwo Fordjour who got trapped in the room by the fire, died before fire service personnel arrived to douse the fire.

One of the victims, Mr Godfred Boateng said they called the KMA fire service but due to the intensity of the fire, an additional two tenders were deployed from Manhyia to assist in the situation.

"It is important to state that one man was killed by the fire and his body has been sent to the morgue."

Honourable Akwasi Agyemang, an Assembly Member of the area speaking to Soireenews said he had a distress call around 7:00 am on Thursday and quickly went to the scene where the incident had happened but unfortunately, one person had been confirmed dead.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue pending autopsy.
