The Kwahu South Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region has held its 65th Independence Day Celebration at Mpreaso Stadium Park on Sunday March 6,2022.
There were Twenty-five (25) basic and senior high schools, cadets and personnel from the security services to commemorate this year’s independence celebration.
Themed; "WORKING TOGETHER AND BOUNCING BACK BETTER," the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu South Municipal Assembly, Mr Emmanuel Atta Ofori Senior charged Ghanaians to build a consensus for all of us to work towards the united happy and prosperous Ghana.
The colorful ceremony was attended by chiefs and people from various communities in the municipality as well as heads of various departments.
He used the opportunity to call on the constituents to embrace the E-levy since it is a reasonable tax.
"Some some people had demonized electronic transaction (E-Levy) taxation it in such a way that others think wrongly about it but push for acceptance," the MCE noted.
He appealed to all Citizens to accept the E-levy, which would help in the development of the country.
According to him, passage of the E-Levy bill into the law will reduce "our dependency on borrowing and will raise revenue for development and provide more jobs."
Mr Atta Ofori Senior called on for unity and hard work in order to sustain ongoing development initiatives for the benefit of all.
The MCE used the occasion to enumerate a number of key projects and policies the Assembly has embarked on in the area of infrastructure and social development for the youth in terms of job creation.
