Residents of Gberimani in the Tolon District of the Northern Region have called on the government of Ghana to provide them with portable water.

The residents claim they share their only source of water with animals.

The situation according to them is unbearable.

Soiree News 24 reporter, Stephen Amoah claims in his submission that the residents' health is in danger as they drink from the unsafe dam. Children are forced to fetch water from it during school hours. They sell the water to natives who are unable to walk the long journey to fetch the water.

The Gberimani natives expressed many concerns about the unbearable situation, stating that "we can no longer bear this hardship anymore".

The Assemblyman for the community, Ibrahim Mohammed declared that a petition has been submitted to Tolon District Assembly but no results have been achieved.

The residents have therefore appealed to the government of Ghana, Non-governmental Organisations, and individuals to assist them.
