A joint Police force of Odumase and its neighbourhood colleagues have timely averted a loamy bloody clash at Odumase Krobo, in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana over a durbar ground.

The incident reportedly occurred on Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Osiekuse durbar grounds in the Manya Krobo Traditional Area when some angry youth of Osiekuse stopped the Divisional Chief of Piengua, from launching this year’s Piengua Ngmayem Festival on the durbar grounds.

The Divisional Chief of Piengua, Nene Tetteh Zogli III, was leading some elders and people of the Piengua Traditional council to the grounds to launch their festival slated for October 26, 2021.

Eventually, the youth in their hundreds led by the leader, Niewimatse Daniel Tetteh, stopped the entourage from entering the grounds to hold the function.

The incident created chaotic scenes which took the intervention of the Police to calm the situation on the grounds.

The leader of the youth, Niewiamatse Daniel Tetteh opined, "the durbar grounds belong to the chiefs and people of Osiekuse against the claim to the place by Nene Tetteh Zoli".

They also added, "the intentions to hold the event were contrary to the President’s ban on social gatherings".

However, the Police have declared the venue as a security zone, though no arrest has been made yet.
