Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, has reportedly been hospitalized.

This comes after the former first lady lost her husband JJ Rawlings today [November 12]

Details about her hospitalization still remain scanty but media reports say the incident is in connection with the unexpected and shocking demise of her husband, Jerry John Rawlings.

Mr Rawlings had been on admission at Korle Bu for about a week for an undisclosed ailment.

Per reports from Graphic Online, the former president felt sick after his mother’s burial about three weeks ago.

President Nana Akufo-Addo Dankwa has declared seven days of national mourning following the death of former President Jerry John Rawlings.

Akufo-Addo in a statement also directed that all national flags are to fly at half-mast for the next seven days as well.

“I have directed that all national flags fly at half-mast for the next seven days in all parts of the country and have declared seven days of national mourning from Friday 13th November to Friday November 20. In honour of the memory of former President Rawlings, the Vice President and I have suspended our political campaigns for the same period”
