The Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, Honourable Ansu Kumi has led other stakeholders in the Municipality to embark on a cleanup exercise last Saturday, November 13.

The exercise was as  part of efforts to help Sunyani regain its former glory of being the cleanest city Ghana, the Municipal Chief executive for the Municipality,

The exercise saw representation from the Sunyani Municipal Assembly,  the two main political parties, NPP and the NDC, Zoomlion Ghana,  an NGO, King David clean Ghana Campaign.

Sunyani East NDC Constituency Executives in the likes of,  Mr Attah Kusi, constituency secretary,  Ussif Ibrahim (Ben Kluvi), constituency Organiser and Obeng serial Caller were all present.

On the NPP side, constituency executives such as the Second Vice-Chairman, Mr Ebenezer Opoku, The Bono Regional Deputy Secretary, Mr Asare Baffour, constituency Treasurer, Veronica Tuffour Berko, Salia Moro (Nasara), Deputy Organiser, Mr Evans Kyereh as well as some Electoral Area Coordinators and polling station executives were also present.

The Municipal Police MTTD department also joined the exercise.

Addressing the media after the program, the  MCE, Hon Ansu Kumi reiterated his commitment to ensuring proper sanitation in the Municipality by enforcing the various Assembly by-laws to that effect.

He said, “to enforce the Assembly’s bye-laws to the teeth on sanitation, I am demonstrating to the residents that, sanitation is a collective responsibility so that, nobody should be left out in the implementation processes”.

He stressed that the last Saturday’s exercise will be a continuous one throughout his tenure in office as the MCE said,   “ we are not ending here, we are continuing in the next two weeks at a different location“.

Hon Ansu Kumi assured them he will charge the Environmental department to enforce the various sanitation by-laws going forward.
