Ghana’s giant communication company, MTN Ghana has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to some major health institutions in the Volta region including other regions in the country.

A delegation from MTN led by its Senior Manager, General Trade, South-East, Mr. Peter Kofi Bimpeh donated a total of 1,000 face masks, 15 boxes of gloves, 20 contactless thermometer gun, 1,000 pieces of the face shield, and 50 gallons of ventilated spirit to the Ho Municipal Hospital (HMH) on Wednesday, 31 March 2021.

According to him, MTN has presented similar PPEs to the Ketu South Municipal Hospital, Hohoe Hospital, Kpedze Health Centre, Anfoega Hospital among others

Mr. Bimpeh said the intervention is part of their contributions towards the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It is just a demonstration of the commitment we have in fighting this pandemic,” he said.

He revealed that other 29 health institutions across the country have benefited from the intervention.

The Head of Administration at the HMH, Samuel Omega who received the donations on behalf of the health facility thanked MTN and assured them of responsible use of the items.

Mr. Omega noted that the Hospital for some time now has been giving some services to clients free of charge, knowing the hardship COVID has rendered on humanity hence MTN’s donation has come at the right time and will help boost their morale to work effectively.

He, however, advised the general public to continue a strict adherence to the various safety protocols because “we are still recoding positive cases”.
