Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders says Liverpool’s new signing, Diogo Jota possess unique qualities as the Reds front three.

He praised that signing Jota is one of the best trade Liverpool has made in the transfer window due to his ability to push defenders when on the ball to influence games, identical to what Firmino, Mane and Salah does to break opposition defense.

The 23-year old Portuguese arrived at Anfield on Saturday as the Reds third signing this summer from Wolverhampton Wanderers in an initial fee of £41m.

He is expected to make his debut against Lincoln City in the League Cup on Thursday together with former Olympiacos left-back, Tsimikas Kostas.

When asked if the former Wolves forward has got abilities to push Liverpool forward, Pep was quick to respond saying, “What can I say?

“His technical level is on the same as our front three," Lijnders added.

"He has so much future in the game and he will have a great pathway inside our club. He's like a pressing monster, so he will fit in straight away.

"We played against each other when he was very young. In Portugal, they all say what a great signing Liverpool made, because they know exactly how he is and what kind of potential he still has.

"He will fit into our style. We are happy with him, and all the things we heard are true. He is a very professional, passionate, dedicated, brave player."

Jota an all-time appearance of 67 for Wolves in the Premier League. He scored 16 and assisted six.
