N’Golo Kante or Jorginho would be required to be sold by Frank Lampard to make available funds for the purchase of Kai Havertz. according to The Daily Mirror.

Chelsea’s chances of securing the service of the 21-year German was boosted following Bayern Leverkusen’s failure to qualify for Europe next season.

Havertz's contract with Die Werkself runs out in 2022 and Chelsea must activate his €94.7m price tag before his services at Stamford Bridge could begin in the upcoming season.

The Daily Mail reported last month that Roman Abramovich has already bankrolled moves for Timo Werner from RB Leipzig (£53million) and Hakim Ziyech from Ajax (£36.6m) and Frank Lampard has been told that further additions would have to be funded through player sales.
