I was disqualified for using the Grammy logo on my promotional flyer—MOGmusic

The Ghanaian gospel musician MOGmusic has acknowledged that his removal from the Grammy nomination list was the result of an error on his behalf.

I was disqualified for using the Grammy logo on my promotional flyer—MOGmusic

When MOGmusic, real name Nana Yaw Boakye, revealed that his album "Koinonia Phase II" was up for a Grammy Award, fans were ecstatic.

When the final nominees were revealed, MOGmusic did not receive the number of nominations he had hoped for, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year, and Best Gospel Album.

He accepted responsibility for the omission in an interview with Hitz FM, stating that his social media staff made a mistake by using the official Grammy emblem on a promotional flier, which resulted in his disqualification.

"Unintentionally, my social media handler uploaded the Grammys' official logo, and it was shared. I was alerted to it by some Ghanaians, and we promptly removed it, but it was already too late. That's what went wrong on my end; my team made a mistake, and I'm taking the fall for it," MOGmusic said.

MOGmusic asked Ghanaians to support their artists in spite of the setback and refrain from making fun of those who were not nominated.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation and solidarity among Ghanaian musicians.

"I believe we need to be very supportive of one another, which is one piece of advise I have for Ghanaians. Davido repeatedly submitted his work, but he has only recently received nominations. I have never seen Nigerians make fun of Davido or make comparisons to Burna Boy. In my opinion, we ought to unify more so that these individuals would see that there exist Ghanaians that actively support or sacrifice for their country," he implored.
