The album, which broke records, was his first musical creation since the passing of his son Ifeanyi on October 31, 2022. It was published on March 31, 2023.

The singer stated, "I actually recorded most of the album in my house where I live with my wife," in an interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music 1. I had one of my boys staying with me at the time, so it was truly just the three of us. I was able to truly relax because of it. I was glad to be creating music, so it was a healing process for me. I was looking forward to it.I felt like an artiste that had just got a record deal.”

Before choosing the tracks that were ultimately released, the singer revealed that he had written a total of 28 songs for the album. In addition, he said that he preferred for the record to be embraced by listeners for its own sake rather than being supported solely because of the loss he had gone through.

Additionally, the singer said that flying was the easiest place for him to focus.

Speaking today in Atlanta, Georgia, at the "Are We African Yet" event, Davido stated, "I want to give (different artistes) the opportunity to come every year and perform." They are unaware that they have supporters here. With the Internet, all it takes to disappear a song is to "drop" it on TikTok (it becomes viral).

"In my opinion, we ought to be proud of our culture. We are impatient for someone else to present the concept. We must complete this on our own.

"My goal is to make it something that is for the culture as a whole, not just my. Atlanta will host the first several events, but we plan to relocate it to other cities, like Los Angeles and Toronto (Canada).”
