Help us arrest illegal fuel sellers- NPA to police

Board Chairman for the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr Mustapha Hamid has called on the Bono Regional Police command to help arrest unauthorized traders who sell fuel in gallons and containers. 
According to him, their activities are illegal and poses threat to lives and properties hence his call. 
He made this statement during a one-day working visit to the region to familiarize himself with industry players in the sector.
 Speaking at a press conference after paying a calls on the Bono regional minister, the Bono Regional House of Chiefs and the Ghana Police Service, Dr Mustapha Hamid noted , “consumers who patronize such unapproved products risk damaging their vehicles and machines at their detriment”.
 He however called on consumers of fuel product to do well to boycott patronage of such product to deter sellers of same from the activity.
The Board Chairman further noted, “the National Petroleum Authority can only intervene for customers who buy from accredited fuel stations when they face any challenge after their purchase”
 He said, the NPA will not hesitate to seek compensation for damage vehicles caused fuel bought from accredited stations. 
He has since advised consumers of fuel to contact their offices and report any damage caused for needed action.
