The unpleasant situation that the leadership of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) having press conferences and meetings in hotels, cars, and restaurants due to lack of office infrastructural challenges would now be the things of the past, the outgoing President of NUGS, Mr. Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel has declared.
To boost their new office complex, the NUGS led by the 2021-2022 executives have commissioned their newly refurbished office being given to the union by Ambassador Lee Ocran who was former Minister of Education of the Republic of Ghana.
The office space will house all the nine elected executives and the two appointed executives that is the secretary for press and information and the secretary for projects and programs.
According to him, with the new office, the leadership of the Union shall not have meetings in cars, hotels, and restaurants anymore.
He seized the opportunity on behalf of the 2021-2022 leadership to thank agencies, companies, governmental organizations, and individuals who extended a supportive hand when they called on them.
In the recent elections, the outgoing President of the National Union of Ghana Students rubbished accusations surrounding the just ended elections saying that the statements the critics made against the outcomes of the results of the election were untrue and unfounded.
According to him, the elections were conducted in a free, fair, violent free, and transparent and the results declared by the officials of the Electoral Commission are a true reflection of the student power.
He is of the view that the April 2, 2022 elections will go down as one of the best elections organized by the Union because for the first time no individual can boast of evidence depicting violence with regards to NUGS elections.
Mr. Yiadom Called on Candidates who are even unsatisfied with the results should petition the Union's Judicial Board because Article 21 of the Union constitution makes provision for that.
"Let me put on record that the Union's Sacred constitution stipulates that one can only become the Union's Leader through a Ballot vote and not a voice vote," he said.
