Hajia 4Reall to be sentenced today; lawyers seek for three months in jail

The socialite's legal team has asked a three-month term, citing her role as a single mother and the importance of her presence in her child's life.

However, the US Attorney's Office has pushed for the full 37-month sentence, noting similar examples and emphasizing the importance of a proper deterrent.

Hajia4Reall identified her daughter's father, Loveman Allison, as the person who introduced her to internet fraud. She described meeting Allison in the United States in 2015 and falling in love with him, only to subsequently learn of his fraudulent actions.

According to Hajia4Reall, Allison exposed her to internet fraud, and she eventually became involved in his operations.

Allison, who has been regarded as an irresponsible father, is at the heart of Hajia4Reall's appeal for leniency. She emphasized the potential detrimental impact her absence could have on their daughter and argued for a lesser term.

Hajia4Reall is charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, one count of money laundering conspiracy, and one offense of money laundering.

She also faces one count of receiving stolen money, which has a maximum 10-year prison sentence, and conspiracy to accept stolen cash, which carries a five-year jail term.

According to reports, Hajia4Reall was involved in a $2 million romance fraud. She allegedly talked with one of her victims several times and received $89,000 in wire transfers, purportedly to help her father's farm.

Her arrest in the UK resulted in her extradition to the United States to face these accusations. The US Attorney's Office has aggressively opposed a lower sentence, stating that it would be unfair and ineffective as a deterrent. They have used similar cases to buttress their position for the 37-month imprisonment.

As the court prepares to hand down its sentence, all eyes are on the proceedings, which have important ramifications for Hajia4Reall's future and its broader message against cyber fraud.
