He made the statement at the inspection ceremony at the Berekum Ghana Water Company Limited premises to observe last year's trees planted. The Forestry commission on last year planted over 60,000 seedlings along with the waterworks in Berekum.

Green Ghana Project Team Today Has Inspected Last Year's Trees Planted to Commences Today's Programme. 

The Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area in the Berekum Municipality of the Bono Region, Dasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo has
commended the government for the green Ghana project and urged the forestry commission and the general public to help protect the trees planted so far.

He made the statement at the inspection ceremony at the Berekum Ghana Water Company Limited premises to observe last year's trees planted.

The Forestry commission on last year planted over 60,000 seedlings along with the waterworks in Berekum.

A team from the forestry commission today visited the area to ascertain how the trees that were planted are faring on the field.

Mr. Francis Brobbey the Manager for Sunyani Forest District also said, over 90 percent of the trees survived and the few that could not survive have been replaced.

According to him, the Sunyani Forest District is planting over 600,000seedlings this year in the forest reserves as part of the 1.2 million seedlings for the entire Bono Region. 

The Bono Regional Manager for Ghana Water Company Limited, Dr. Samuel Ason added that the trees would help protect their water source since the river serving as their main source sometimes dries up but the trees will in future protect the water source from the sun in order not to try up.
