More Women Must Be in Parliament for in the Next 5 Years - NGO

A non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Maria Charitable Trust in Gomoa West District of Central Region has urged women to involve themselves in the country’s politics.
The NGO says women should take it upon themselves to contest parliamentary seats in the next 4 years.
Speaking to the media, the country director for Maria Charitable Trust Foundation (NGO), Mr. Ebo Wilson Prah, said it is their vision to assist women to partake in every activity within the country.

He said Women should be encouraged to involve themselves in any political contest in the 2024 elections so that by the end of the next 5 years, more women would be found in Parliament.
Mr. Ebo Wilson Prah said the main objective of Maria Charitable Trust Foundation is to promote gender equality, girl’s child education, teach women how to participate in politics and every activity to enhance their livelihoods.
He declared that over 4,000 women have benefited from the Maria Charitable Trust Foundation programme.
He advised that gender equality must be regarded and if possible it should be taught as a subject at the basic school level.
