The Parliamentary Select Committee of Finance, Local government, Works and Housing, Environment, science and technology and Innovation have inspected the Integrated Recycling and compost plant Project at Damongo in the Savannah Region.

Speaking to Soireenews reporter Alex Donkoh, the Member for Local government, Honorable Freda Prempeh expressed that although Savannah Region's is a carved out section of the Northern Region yet the contractors have given assurance to complete the projects by the next three months.

She revealed that since it's a developing Region, the Assembly and the Regional Coordinating Council have work to do through organising sensitization programs to educate the public on how they can manage Waste.

She, therefore, urged the public to accept the sanitation levy to augment the efforts of Zoomlion Company on projects across the sixteen Region.

The Deputy Ranking Member for Works and Housing, Honourable Andrew Chiwetey called on the government on the need to support Zoomlion to quickly complete the integrated Recycling and compost plant Project to help manage the Waste across the country.

He also encouraged the need to create awareness on waste in the various homes to help in the sorting.

He charged the media to keep an eye on the sanitation levy passed by the government to serve the purpose of its creation.
