Cocoa farmers support 25 health facilities in Asunafo North to fight Covid-19

The items were donated by cocoa farmers in the Ahafo Region to assist the frontline workers in the fight against coronavirus.

The Asunafo North Municipal Co-Operative Cocoa farmers in Ahafo Region have donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to 25 health facilities in Asunafo North to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

They include sanitisers, carbolic soap, liquid soap, surgical gloves, nose masks, disinfectant among others at the cost of Gh¢23,000.00 and it is the second time the Union has rendered support to the health facilities since the outbreak of novel pandemic.

Mr Daniel Amponsah, President of the Cocoa farmers said the gesture forms part of the Union's quest to help the government in the fight against Covid-19 in the municipality and the items will be distributed to the 25 health facilities in Asunafo North Municipality

The Asunafo North Municipal health Director Dr Eric Cholatse on behalf of his colleagues at Asunafo North thanked the cocoa farmers union for the Donation.

He advised the citizens to be calm although the region has recorded 80 positive cases of the virus in the second wave -77 have recovered and discharged with only three receiving treatment

The Asunafo North Municipal Cheif Executive, Honorable Osei Yaw Boahen expressed his appreciation for the fact that the Union did the needed assessment of the hospital before acquiring the items and it has met the needs of the hospital. He expressed the hope that the donation would enable the hospital to give quality health care to its numerous clients.
