The Savannah Regional Minister, Saeed Muhazu Jibril has renewed government's commitment to continue partnering with Zoomlion in transforming waste management in Ghana. 

He said the strides Ghana has made in recent years with regards to solid and liquid waste management is remarkable. He attributed this progress to the efficiency of Jospong Group of Companies and Zoomlion Ghana Limited.

He commended Zoomlion for the establishment of the Integrated Recycling and Compost Plant (IRECOP) which is 50 per cent complete at Damango, and appealed to the company to urgently consider partnering with the Regional Coordinating Council to establish mini liquid waste plants in the 7 municipal and district capitals.

The Regional Minister said this in a speech read on his behalf by Regional Director of Environmental Health Department, Mr Adam Wahab at the savannah regional edition of the Zoomlion and Graphic Communications Group waste awareness creation dialogue series.

The collaboration is dubbed "Make Ghana Clean Campaign"

Mr Wahab called for an intensified and deliberate public awareness creation, sustained law enforcement for  Ghanaians to live by example in ensuring that their surroundings are always clean.

In a presentation, a Senior Communications Officer of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Mr Mohammed Mahama Adams said that his outfit has partnered with several private and public institutions in its bid to create waste management and environmental sanitation awareness across the nation. He gave the assurance that the company will continue with the agenda to ensure that many Ghanaians develop a new positive attitude towards waste disposal.

He hinted that IRECOP plant is being built in all sixteen regions alongside liquid waste treatment plants to receive and treat liquid with the aim of generating electricity to augment the national power generation.

He said Zoomlion is resilient with its 360-degree waste management system agenda and will soon make Ghana a clean nation.

Mr Alhassan Zakariah, sub-chief editor at the Graphic Communications Group advised Ghanaians to properly manage their waste for the nationa to benefit in diverse ways.
