Goasomanhene directs closure of shops for green Ghana program

The Goaso Traditional Council has directed that all shops remain closed between 0600 hours to 1030 hours on Friday to allow for green Ghana program within the Goaso.

The Goaso Traditional Council has directed that all shops must remain closed between the hours of 6 am to 10 on Friday to allow the Green Ghana program within Goaso.

Nana Kwasi Bosomprah I made it known at Goaso in an Interview with Soireenews' Sulley Dramani.

According to him, the directive was to observe a day green Ghana program by Forestry Commission to plant 5 million trees aimed at keeping Ghana's Forest Reserve.

He explained that the exercise would start on Friday, June 11, 2021, where all schools, institutions and workers are requested to plant trees in their respective areas.

Nana Bosomprah told that he expects very limited vehicular movement during the period of the planting exercise and wants all drivers and pragia riders to get involved. 

It said the Green Ghana program is part of the activities laid down to meet the Forestry Commission aim of making Ghana green.

In respect of that, "all Residents, Corporate Organizations Markets, Drivers, Opinion Leaders, Traditional Authorities, are enjoined to come out with their planting tools to plant their respective communities, places of work, homes and surroundings.”

Nana Kwasi Bosomprah I advised the general public to participate fully by planting trees around their surroundings and workplaces.
