There was a drama in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital, when the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffuor Awuah stormed out of an interview on Child Labour.

The Minister was about to be interviewed by the Journalists at the sidelines of a Parliamentary Select Committee on Employment, Social Welfare and State Enterprise Seminar on Child Labour in Capital View Hotel where he addressed participants about the existence of child labour in various communities and its repercussions on the victims and international trade particularly cocoa commodity.

Ghanaweb Journalist, McAnthony Dagyenga asked the first question that “Honourable, we are in the year 2021, and Child labour is still on the ascendancy, is it inadequate political will to fight it or what?"

This unharmed question however infuriated the Minister and he stormed out of the interview.

“I will not answer this question. If this is how you are starting your interview, I will not answer. Any small opportunities you people want to push someone into politics. I won’t answer. Have you people been seeing me featuring on your programs? The Minister angrily walked away.

Interview truncated, Journalists amazed.
