Ghanaians Deserve Better - Yvonne Nelson To Akufo-Addo

Yvonne Nelson has expressed her irritation at the way Akufo-Addo has been handling matters in light of how much the President criticised John Dramani Mahama when the country was plunged into darkness during his tenure.

She said this concerning the recent power cuts as she explained that someone like Akufo-Addo should not be putting Ghanaians through such issues.

“Mr President @NAkufoAddo remember when @JDMahama was in Power? Remember the pressure everyone gave him, including you….because of DUMSOR? Ok good! FIX IT!!!! Ghanaians deserve BETTER! We are tired of LEADERS not caring about the PEOPLE. #dumsormuststop,” She said.

Even though the country has been facing an epileptic power supply, the Akufo-Addo led administration has assured Ghanaians that it would never get to what happened during the era of John Dramani Mahama when the country could go days without light.

Yvonne Nelson has always been vocal about her views towards leaders in the country.

The actress has always been open about political issues, more so during the period of the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus. She has aired her controversial opinions about the outbreak and has given her diverse opinions on how the situation could be resolved.

"Africa, they bring us up not to speak, not to create, they use the word 'respect' to control us even when we know they are wrong, a young person is never right! Whiles the world is creating, inventing and giving younger ones the platforms, they still spend millions on independence celebrations when we are still slaves! We control nothing! They are still controlling us! We cant think for ourselves," she said.

"Creating opportunities for all Ghanaians ... incentives for the youth to start businesses! How can a kid in a village, who has to walk, cross a river and walk again to get to school (under a tree, no chairs) with no breakfast have a sound mind to invent anything?," she quizzed.

Officials of GRIDCO we're earlier in the week reported having hinted of the return of Dumsor after an official noted they were in talks with ECG and other stakeholders on a power supply schedule.

They have however corrected the notion, saying the situation at hand is not Dumsor but challenges they have to deal with in some part of the capital.
