Ghana wants to duplicate the success of the 'Year of Return.'

Three years after the "Year of Return" urged Africans in the diaspora to visit Ghana, another strategy to enhance tourism has been launched.

At the weekend, President Nana Akufo-Addo launched "Destination Ghana," praising his country's "rich culture," commercial prospects, and political stability.

Visitors to Ghana are no longer required to undergo a PCR test before entering, and mask use is now voluntary rather than mandated across the country.

According to tourism statistics, from January to September of this year, there was a 45 percent increase in visitors compared to the same time the previous year.

However, it is impossible to say whether this was due to the Year of Return campaign because travelers were not requested to state this as the purpose for their visit when they arrived.
