Manso Nsiana in the Amansie West District

Assemblyman for Manso Nsiana Electoral Area, Honorable James Adomako has lamented over neglect of social infrastructures especially roads in the Amansie West District blaming the government for handing their road contracts to the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Wontumi) who is ignoramus on that field.

Honourable Adomako has opined that the Amansie West District has not benefitted from the New Patriotic Party since Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo took over as President in 2016. He is of the view that the incumbent government careless about communities within the Assembly regardless of their allegiance during the election hence their decision to boycott the next, come what may.

“The NPP government has in mind that whether he attends to us or not we’ll vote for him so he takes us for granted,” he told.

“They have cheated on the Amansie West for too long and our District capital is nothing to write home about. From Nsiana, to Moseaso, Abransi, Asuonwunu is even worse.”

Ultramodern toilet facility at Nsiana

He warned that it will serve the New Patriotic Party a lesson next time to treat their strongholds with utmost respect through infrastructural benefits.

The Assemblymember spoke to Soireenews during a visit to Manso Nsiana as he accounted to the media on the immense role played to progress the lives of inhabitants in his one year reign.

He expressed that the community through miners cooperate social responsibility fund have put up social amenities like market, three toilet facilities (each is a 12 seater) and have managed to acquire electricity poles for power extensions to parts of the community yet the government has turned deaf ears on their pleas to supplement their efforts, which their main concern is roads.

Deplorable Nsiana Road

He explained that sod was cut to begin a 90-kilometre road project in the Amansie West under the Year of Road initiative, and since the contract was handed over to Chairman Wontumi, not even a kilometre has been fixed to ease drivers burdens.

“The president assured that 90 kilos of roads are on his list yet not even one has been done since the sod cutting. The road has been given to Chairman Wontumi, who has no knowledge of road works and here we are. He abandoned the road after constructing the drains and because he is a party chairman, everyone is quiet.

Honourable James Adomako, Assemblymember of Nsiana

“We will demonstrate soon against the NPP government to know that the 2020 election was his last vote from us.

"He has shown total disrespect towards us and we will teach them a lesson in 2024.  There is Gold (Asanko Mining) Cocoa, Coffee and Timber here in the Amansie West which fetches Ghana a lot of foreign exchange yet we get nothing for all the services we provide for Ghana’s growth.

Honourable James Adomako challenged the NPP to pinpoint anything they have done in his Assembly that fulfiled inhabitant’s commitment to the party all these years.

He cautioned that if the government continues to deny them a share of the national cake, they will boycott the next elections.
