The Ghana Statistical Service has pegged the country's population at 30. 8 million. 

This was disclosed at a programme by the service on the preliminary report here in Accra. 

Giving highlight of the report, Chief Census Officer and Government Statistician, Professor Samuel Kobina Anim said there has been a 6.1million people added to the pollution since the 2010 census.

The 2021 digital census also reports that the population is made up of 50.7% females and 40.3 males.

Professor Anim also indicated that there are currently over 10.7million structures with 20% uncomplicated. These structures include kiosks, containers and wooden structures. 

"10 out of the 16 regions led by Volta region recorded more females than males and the rest of the 6 regions led by Western North recorded more males than females," he added.

"We will release the proximity analysis thus proximity to essential services on the 19th of October, 2021", he assured

Meanwhile, the GSS is expected to release the presidential proximity essential service report next month. In November, it will release the 2021 PHC general report, thematic report from May -December 2022, Analytical report from June 2022- May 2024 and the Census Atlas in 2024.

The government urged state agencies and their donor partners to use the date judiciously. 

Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah will use the data for policy and development planning, as it seeks to review its coordinated programs.
