An election watcher, Ernest Akosah has said the success of an election is not only based on the outcome of the results.

He was reacting to the statement by the Electoral Commission (EC) that the 2020 general election was the most successful one in Ghana’s 4th Republic.

Ghana’s Electoral Commission has described the 2020 general polls as the most successful in the country’s Fourth Republic.

The Director for Training at the Commission, Michael Boadu, at an ongoing post-election workshop by CODEO, attributed the success to their choice of procurement method.

Speaking with SoireeNews, Mr Akosah said even though the election was successfully organized there are other things that were not properly done.

He revealed that it was not the best decision for Electoral Commission to prepare another voter to register few days before the election.

Mr Akosah, however, called on the Commission to develop a software that will make it easier for voters to access information of himself at EC’s website.

This according to him will make it easier for them to make the correction.

He is also of the view that the EC must find a way to incorporate the National Identification card into Ghana’s Electoral system.
