The Highest chief priest of the Ga State, Nai Wolomo, Nuumo Akwaa Mensah III, has stated that it is important for steps to be taken to encourage the youth to become interested and participate in cultural affairs.

The Highest chief priest of the Ga State, Nai Wolomo, Nuumo Akwaa Mensah III, has stated that it is important for steps to be taken to encourage the youth to become interested and participate in cultural affairs.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com ahead of this year's annual Homowo festival, Nuumo Akwaa Mensah III explained that it is important for the youth to leave behind the rich and important cultural activities and legacies.
Nuumo Akwaa Mensah III urged the youth to uphold the promotion of Ghana’s cultural heritage, stressing, that he believes that the youth would realize the significance of their culture in molding their lives and lead to holistic national development.
He acknowledged the youth's participation in "our culture and tradition; otherwise, a time will come Ghanaian youth will be challenged in learning about our culture and the origins and history behind towns, suburbs, and settlements.
"It is said that persons with knowledge of history and culture are undervalued and underutilized in their efforts to document and promote Ghanaian heritage," Chief Priest of Ga State, Nai Wulomo noted.
He indicated that the lifting ban on noisemaking ritual serves as a signal that the annual Homowo festival was imminent and called on all the indigenes to come and participate in this year's Homowo festival to enjoy the exhibition of tradition and culture.
