Severe Water shortage Hit Akuapem Tutu

Severe water shortage has hit Akuapem Tutu and its environs in the Akuapem North Municipality of Eastern Region.

The situation has compelled over three thousand community members in the town to walk some kilometres every day to fetch water from a nearby stream as Ghana Water Company Limited has refused to supply water in the area.

According to some of the residents, the situation does not only offer an opportunity for stubborn kids not to comply with Covid-19 protocols of handwashing regularly but also exposes both children and adults in the town to a lot of dangers of contracting the dangerous Coronavirus.

Others noted that the four private drilled water projects in the town are not enough to provide adequate water for the entire community, lamenting that two out of the four are not functioning currently.
