At least ten fun clubs at Budumburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region have embarked on clean-up exercises to ensure good hygiene in the community.

The fun clubs include "woy3 me Nua fun Club", "Dua Koro Gye Nframa an ebu", Onua d) Kuo, Parliament One,,, and many others.

Addressing the media, Chairman woy3 me nua" fun Club, Atta Nicholas Senior said a collection of associations in Bujumbura decided to embark on this exercise to ensure better hygienic conditions and prevent diseases like Chorale, typhoid, Malaria, and many other diseases.

Prince Arhin, chairman of Dua Koro Gye Nframa a ebu also noted that it is not the duty of Zoomlion alone to clean our environment but also the responsibility of every citizen to practice personal hygiene wherever you find yourself.

Furthermore, Mohammed Enstie, chairman for Onua d) Kuo was highly disappointed in the district assembly even though they were working together with them.

Reacting to the conduct of the district assembly, Mohammed claimed the assembly was supposed to provide them with a big Borla truck to accommodate the refuse for proper disposal but the assembly decided to give them tricycles ( aboboyaa).

Finally, the assembly brought the big Borla truck to help the fun clubs to embark on the clean-up.

"Due to the delay of the assembly, a larger number of the fun clubs were discouraged and decided not to participate in the clean-up exercise leading to the low number of participants from various fun clubs", he emphasized.

Members of the various fun clubs commended their leaders for bringing up the such initiative and their support for their leaders.
