FYN Men Association of Ghana has called on the parliament of Ghana to immediately review the laws on homosexuality in the country.

The association says parliament should enact a new law or strengthen the old law to absolutely forbid same-sex acts in the country.

The association claims the laws will help to uplift the moral values of the Ghanaian societies as well as preserve the rich culture of the country that frowns on homosexuality,

The Association made the call in a press statement to praise President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for assuring Ghanaians that the country would not legalise the activities of LGBTQI+ so long as he remains the leader of the country.

In a statement signed issued and by the leadership of the FYN Men Association of Ghana in the persons of Mr. Kwabena Nyarko and Nana Yaw Obeng and copied to Soireenews.com, the group noted that the presidential declaration has helped to allay fears that had characterized the Ghanaian populace on whether the country had allowed such barbaric activities following the opening an advocacy office in Accra that was shut down last week.

The association claims despite President Akufo-Addo declaring that the abominable acts will not be legalized, the country must enact strict laws to deal with whoever would be caught in LGBTWQI+ activities.

"We wish to urge the President, Parliament and the judiciary to either enforce the existing laws or enact by-laws that would deal with perpetrators of homosexuality.

It argued that Ghana is a religious country that forbid such acts so the earlier the country deal with the issue, the better way to protect and preserve the culture and customs we have.”

"We are also, calling on all Ghanaians to rally behind government and deal with the activities of the LGBTQI+ without politicizing the matter," the statement stressed.
