Drivers on the Odomase Sunyani stretch are calling on the Motor Traffic and Transport Directorate to as a matter of urgency call on the Sunyani Municipal Assembly to repair the dysfunctioning SSNIT Traffic light to prevent further occurrence of road accidents.
Speaking in an interview with Soiree news, some drivers recounted many occasions the traffic light has developed a similar fault causing an accident at the spot. They are unhappy about the fact that the challenge has persisted for so long but nothing seems to be done about the situation.
The situation now is that light gives direction at all the four corners of the road creating confusion between drivers coming from all angles.
They are calling on all stakeholders to work out their possible best to restore it to normalcy or assign officers to direct the drivers to prevent accidents from happening.
In an interaction with the Bono Regional MTTD boss, Superintendent Steven Tenkorang said they will link up with the Assembly to know what measures they can take to resolve the situation.
