Tarkwa Media Association in the Western Region has donated a set of nine bulbs to the Brahabebome Community in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality.

Chairman of the Association, Mr Joseph Frimpong speaking to the media revealed that the donation was made following complaints they receive on the various Radio programmes by listeners about darkness that has engulfed a section of the community where students of University of Mines and Technology ply to their hostels after evening studies.

He told that learners go through laptops, phone snatching and sexual harassment at night in the hands of thieves.

Mr Frimpong asserted that it was for that reason they solicited help from a philanthropist who provided them with the bulbs to be donated to the Brahabebome community to be used to illuminate the area to put a stop to the harassment being meted out to the students.

The association which has been in existence for close to four years has been monitoring various radio programmes from the various Radio stations in Tarkwa to identify the problems that the people are facing and make sure solutions are given out by the authorities in charge.

The Assemblymember for the Area, Honorable John Koomson who received the items thanked the association for their kind gesture and said he is ready to work with them to help develop the area.
