Manchester United have defeated Aston Villa by 3-0 in the Matchday 34 fixture of the English Premier League on Thursday night.

Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, and Pogba were on the scoresheet as the Red Devils surge continues with just one point behind Leicester.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named an unchanged side, the first time since 2006 that United have been unchanged in the league over four matches - the same team that dispatched Sheffield United, Brighton, and Bournemouth.

It was just the one change for Aston Villa following the defeat at Liverpool - Mbwana Samatta was preferred over Keinan Davis, who dropped to the bench.

Villa looked composed and missed a few opportunities making it hard for the visitor to disrupt them.

A controversial Bruno Fernandes penalty gave the Red Devils the lead in the 27-minute.

Fernandes pirouetted on the edge of the box, which lured a rash challenge from Konsa, and referee Jon Moss pointed straight to the spot. The Portuguese swayed Reina to the opposite side to get the opener.

Mason Greenwood added the second late in the first half. It was a beautiful setup as Martial did brilliantly to win possession in midfield before releasing Greenwood away.

He exchanged passes with the Frenchman on the edge of the area before ramming a venomous drive past Reina at his near post.

Pogba scored the third; 13-minutes in the second half after Fernandes played a corner to him on the edge of the area as Villa were guilty of standing off again. They gave the Frenchman all the time in the world to pick out the bottom corner past the unsighted Reina.
