Former President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that killings during the 2020 elections as well as the recent at Ejura were all impunities of the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-elections.

According to him, the incumbent New Patriotic Party government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo sided with the act.

The former President said even though there is peace in the country after the 2020 elections yet about 8 souls have been lost.

"The elections could be more be peaceful and free from killing if the government paid much attention to the unlawful happenings before the 2020 election in the country, which he makes reference to the happenings during the Ayawaso West Wougon by-elections," he said.

He, therefore, appealed to the religious leaders to add their voice to the electoral reforms that the National Democratic Congress is seeking.

Ex-president Mahama made this appeal when he met the religious leaders at Prestea in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality during his "Thank-you tour" in the Western Region.
