President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, September 9, 2021, visited Imo State where he commissioned four newly executed projects.

Despite the heavy presence of security operatives in every part of Owerri, the Imo State capital, mammoth crowd were on ground to receive the President. 

The projects are Naze-Poly Nekede road, Balloon Technology Drainage Tunnel at Dock Tiger, Amakohia Egbeada bypass and the New Government House Executive Chambers.

The President landed at the Sam Mbakwe Airport in Owerri, the state capital, and was received by state officials and other dignitaries, according to the Channels.

Governor Hope Uzodinma had a few days back disclosed that Buhari would be visiting the state to commission some “significant projects” his government has executed.

"While in Abuja, I secured approval for President Muhammadu Buhari to visit Imo on Thursday, Sept. 9, to commission some significant projects put together by the Shared Prosperity Administration,” the governor told newsmen after he visited the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He also noted that Imo has gotten additional support from the President on the management of some ecological problems in the state.

Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, and Abia State Deputy Governor were present at the event.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Egbeada Bypass at Owerri North Local Government Area, Buhari commended Governor Hope Uzodinma.

The President said the projects will boost economic activities in the State and ease traffic congestion.

He said all projects commissioned were in line with his administration policy.
