The Ahafo Regional Minister Mr George Boakye has urged the Municipal and District Education Director to intensify supervision to improve Education standards in the region.

He said the first line in the supervision of teaching and learning is in the hands of headteachers.

Mr Boakye said this at a stakeholders Engagement meeting on the 2020 BECE/ WASSCE workshop for supervisors and Education Directors in Goaso.

The Minister affirmed that if the headteachers are not adequately equipped with the knowledge and skills in supervision and monitoring success will not be achieved.

He emphasizes the need for headteachers to report to school early to set the tone for the day's activities and also see to it that their teachers prepared lesson notes.

He expressed the hope that the workshop would address some of the deficiencies in the teaching and learning in schools, and make the circuit supervisors and headteachers more responsible for their work.

Mr George Boakye revealed that education now demands the development of management skills in the administration of the schools and urged headteachers to develop such skills for the effective running of their schools.
