Some Underperforming Students Always Not Due to Laziness or Mental Deficiencies but Sometimes Sight Challenges – Headmistress of ZAPS.

Mrs Adjei Kunadu, the Headmistress of Techiman Zongo Adventist Preparatory School (ZAPS) Primary Level in the Bono East Region has observed that not all underperforming students are a result of laziness or mental deficiencies but sometimes due to sight challenges in the body of the children which some parents or teachers might not know and the children wouldn't complain either.

She is therefore calling on parents and guardians to pay keen attention to their wards who start to show symptoms of bad sight ability or drop in academic performance in studies and take immediate steps to seek medical redress to safeguard the child's future.

Mrs Adjei Kunadu made this urgent appeal in Techiman when the Zongo Adventist Preparatory School together with the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) organized a Special Eye Screening Exercise for all the Pupils in the school.

On his part, Pastor Ebenezer Odame Kumi the Overseer of Techiman West District of the Seventh Day Adventist Church under the Mid North Conference seized the opportunity to advise parents not to give up on their children who perform poorly academically or slow learners but rather take urgent steps to seek medical remedies to possible health challenges in their system.

Finally, Some Parents and Pupils of Techiman Zongo Adventist Preparatory School who benefited from the Eye Screening Exercise also expressed their appreciation to the authorities of the school for seeking their welfare to help gain good eyesight.
